PERPETRATOR INTERVENTION PROGRAM

RESPONSIBLE AND RESPECTFUL CHOICES - MEN'S PROGRAM, MEN'S COURT SUPPORT AND COUNSELLING
EDON Place understands the importance the Perpetrator Intervention Program and supporting families experiencing or who have experienced DFV. We seek to address the abusive behaviour of individuals who perpetrate domestic and family violence and provide them with opportunities to change. The program is designed to assist each man participating in the program to stop using violence and abuse in their relationships by providing opportunities to:
  1. Learn new skills to manage difficult situations
  2. Understand your patterns of behaviours and triggers
  3. Safety Planning/time-out strategies  
  4. Understanding the cycle of abuse and ways in which to exit it.
  5. Keeping your family safe
  6. Enhance your communication style/skills
  7. Creating healthier relationships
  8. Becoming a safe role model for children
  9. Expand men’s understanding and awareness of the impact that Family Violence has on others
  10. Look at ways to increase men’s current support networks
Our experienced staff can provide support and information:
  1. Domestic and Family Violence Legislation
  2. Information about Court procedures;
  3. Post court debriefing and information;
  4. Referral to other agencies.
