EDON PLACE RECONCILIATION
ACTION PLAN (RAP)
Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces shared unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, and a national culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations. In the context of our organisation, this represents equal health and wellbeing outcomes for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, and an inclusive and diverse workplace that is not just culturally safe, but culturally rich and proud.
OUR RAP
EDON Place Domestic and Family Violence Centre has developed a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan to improve opportunities within our organisation and the funded services that we provide to improve socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. EDON Place Domestic and Family Violence Centre intends to achieve the RAP from a holistic approach of a trauma informed framework, on all levels of staffing and community interactions within our servicing regions. We will achieve this by establishing a RAP Working Group (RWG) and First Nations Advisory Committee made up of local Traditional Owners, community members, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. Our vision for this RWG is to be made up of community members providing a cross-sectional cultural understanding and awareness of local domestic and family violence matters. Initial timeframes for the RWG to meet will be monthly to establish the Terms of Reference and further community engagement. The
frequency of these meetings may change over the course of the year.
